Terms of Service
Last updated: July 15, 2026
Agreement
By creating an account or using Recivity, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
Service description
Recivity lets you store an encrypted vault document, check in on a schedule you configure, and release access to named beneficiaries if you miss check-ins past your release window.
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and provide a valid email address to use Recivity.
Your account
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity under your account. Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
Vault passphrase
Your vault passphrase encrypts your document in the browser. We never receive it and cannot recover it or decrypt your vault. If you lose your passphrase and cannot answer your recovery questions, your vault contents may be permanently inaccessible.
Dead-man switch
You set check-in intervals and reminder/release delays. If you do not check in and escalation completes, we notify beneficiaries and may grant them a release path to decrypt the vault using your recovery questions. You are responsible for accurate beneficiary contact details and for understanding the schedule you configure.
Acceptable use
You may not use Recivity for illegal content or activity, to harass others, to attempt unauthorized access, or to disrupt the service. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.
Disclaimer of warranties
Recivity is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Recivity and its operators are not liable for lost vault passphrases, inability to decrypt content, missed check-ins due to user error or email delivery issues, beneficiary misuse after release, or events beyond our reasonable control. Our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim (or zero if the service is free).
Termination
You may stop using Recivity at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these terms or to protect the service and its users.
Changes
We may update these Terms of Service. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will change when we do. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
